Whatever the mind of a man can conceive and believe, it can achieve.
THE POWER OF TOUCH

Of our five senses, touch is the most powerful to convey love and intimacy. The loving touch has been proven to have both psychological and physiological effects on the body.In the 15th century,an emperor wondered if people would be able to speak if they never heard a spoken word. So,he ordered some infants to be taken away and divided into two groups. The first group was raised in a normal way. The second group was handled by a robot-like nurses. They were cleaned and fed, but never touched. By the end of the year, the 2nd group of infants were all dead. Studies indicate that children especially sick children need the loving touch and fonding of a mother figure to aid physical recuperation, according to Dr.Marsha Klaus. A child who is hardly touched will not grow even though he is getting enough food. He will not develop mentally and will easily get an infection. It is the mother’s touch and communication that stimulate a child to develop. In disciplining a child, touch is a very important element. When a boy or girl had done something wrong, a reprimand is called for. But after the scolding, when the parent has had time to catch his breath and compose himself, he should touched the child - a pat on the shoulder or on the hand, to assure him that, while the behavior exhibited was unacceptable, parental love remains unchanged. This way, the loving bond is intact.Unfortunately, many parents stop touching their children when they grow up - long before the youngsters want them to. One college boy asked: “How long to have my father put his arm around my shoulders again, so I can be assured he still loves me!” At this age, his father perhaps believed that he no longer needed that loving gesture, young man retorted, “One is never too old to be assured of love”. A loving touch of husband when a woman is in labor, makes her contractions more tolerable. Explains that, touch of a loving person transfer the energy from that person to the patient. This raises the energy level and brings about a state of relaxation.Touch person - language of love to the fullest. An arm around shoulders, holding hand in car, as we slept, hand extended to help me up from my seat, when crossing the street. These non verbal communications of love and concern are priceless. People produce good vibes when they touched and even strangers feel kinship when flesh touches flesh. So, don’t be afraid to touch. It is one experience where both the giver and the recipient feel better for it.
