When both husband and wife are religious people and yet struggling with basic concerns in life, how much more when there’s only one of them?

When husband and wife are both working for a living and yet struggling with financial matters, how much more when only one of them working?

What about when neither of them is religious and/or neither of them is working?

My real experience is in the second paragraph and my parents’ life after 20 years of their marriage falls on the third. How about you?
