… when peaceful stillness compassed everything… – Wisdom 18:14
Ten years ago, just months into the practice of centering prayer, I noticed its fruits in my life.
I used to be a person who wanted to be in control of everything.
When things didn’t go as planned, I’d panic. I learned how to let go and welcome unexpected changes.
When people didn’t come up to my expectations, I’d lose my patience. I learned how imperfect I am and so I became more accepting of other people.
When crisis came, I’d be alarmed, unable to bear the heat of the moment. I learned how to look for the lessons that each crisis brings. Far from being perfect, I continue to sit still for some 20 minutes every morning, centering on God and opening myself to His action
and presence in my life.
I simply sit still in silence while God does His work. Tess Atienza
REFLECTION:
Do you submit yourself to God’s action in your life?
Lord, I open myself to Your presence and action in my life.

my reflections
think: Too many prayers are offered up to God in a flippant manner or without proper reflection.
