There are several reasons why Thailand has become one of the world’s top medical tourism destinations. However, in this article, I would just simply present briefly the first three reasons as introductions and then focus on the last item – Medical Tourism.
The first reason is the obvious fact that the Kingdom of Thailand is where the long name of the Great city of Angels, originally called “Krungthep Mahanakorn …”, or simply Bangkok,
is located. It’s in this dazzling city and nearby provinces where you can find both ancient and modern arts and architectures.
It’s a beautiful country with its beautiful people where the well-known and best Asian tourist destinations: Bangkok, Phuket, Chang Mai, Pattaya, and Koh Samui are situated.
Secondly, Thailand is known for its abundance in almost everything, and that’s the main reason why basic foods: rice, vegetables, fruits, sea foods, fresh-water fish, and etc., are very cheap compared to other tourist destination countries. Aside from foods, other products such as clothing, artifacts and other locally made and produced items are very cheap as well, thus, encouraging foreign visitors flocking into the week-end Chatuchack markets.
Thirdly, the Kingdom’s transportation and telecommunications systems today are far better off than it was few years back. So, going around the city of Bangkok and to its nearby provinces is easy and very convenient. Within the city, people have many options, like taking the BTS sky train, or the sub-way train if in a hurry. Another option is to take a taxi and then go through the expressway to bypass some traffic areas. It could also be the combination of two, or all those options to add funs in traveling.
If not much in a hurry, then there are both air-conditioned and non air-conditioned buses roaming around the city areas.
While on travel with any of the options above, there’s no problem using any of your telecommunication gadgets, like mobile phones, or 3G interface you use to continue accessing the Internet.
Going to, and back from the nearby popular tourist destinations: Pattaya,
Rayong, Phuket, Chang Mai, Ayuthaya, Koh Samui, and etc., is also easy and very convenient for there are lots of tourist buses, or mini vans available around. You can also take a traditional train from Bangkok going to Chang Mai,
or an airplane if you don’t like to enjoy the 12-hour bus ride.
For those who would like to visit and explore Koh Samui, after about 4-hour bus ride from Bangkok to Rayong, a boat will carry you to the Koh Samui island
.
The last, but not the least, is the reason why Thailand has become one of the world’s top medical tourism destinations, is not just because of the aforementioned introductions, but also because of the real truth about its medical expertise, advanced medical equipments, safe, as well as, inexpensive first-class treatment performed by medical professionals many of whom were graduates from the most prestigious and well-known medical institutions in the West.
When it comes to medical facilities, it’s not uncommon to hear medical tourists in Thailand compared the Kingdom’s medical facilities to a luxury 5-star VIP treatment back in their countries.
Bangkok’s medical service is now ranked among the world’s absolutely finest and truly amazing service at amazingly cost-saving rates.
The numbers of medical tourists coming to Bangkok for treatment, in recent years, has truly exploded.
Some groups of medical tourists have chosen the city of Chiang Mai not only for its cultural and natural entities, but also for the highest standard health care services, specialists and medical equipments available.
Other groups have chosen Phuket
for it is now a healthy heavenly abode for top-notch world-class medical facilities offering safe specialized treatments. While living-it-up at one of Phuket’s luxury five star hotels, medical tourists can place their trust in many of Asia’s most skilled practitioners trained in dentistry, cosmetic surgery, skin care, spa and holistic treatment and major surgeries. The island’s Bangkok Hospital Phuket with its JCI accreditation, means top US safety and health care equivalent standards have come to the Andaman Sea.
Medical tourists to Ko Samui can overstay their trip in the safe hands of prolific cosmetic surgeons, expert dental specialists and advanced spa therapists. With cost-effective rates at a fraction of what is on offer back home, medical tourists can safely save enough for that once-in-a-lifetime-luxury holiday.
Thus, because of all of these, there’s no wonder why Thailand has become one of the top Medical Tourism Destinations in the world.
There’s only one way to find out the truth, i.e., come and visit Thailand and explore its richness in almost everything, especially its highest standard health care services.
